Well, after contorting myself to death (even with driver seat out) I finally got my dash harness installed and the car started!! So happy there.

Though two questions:

1) have a purple & white wires near steering column that I can't see where it goes??

2) my turn signals don't work??

Thoughts??

Thanks

Purple/white wires would go to a back up light switch in the column (if it was a column shift car).

Turn signals...Flashers installed? My guess would be something to do with the wires to/from the turn signal switch being all four are out. Check to see you have power going in and power going out and go from there.

Good Luck.

Thanks prop, this helps. I have 4 speed, so expalins why I didn't see purple & white wires on "the way out"...I was pretty careful about documenting.

I too thought about Flashers as when I first tried everything I had turn signal bulbs light but no blinking (which was new, did not have anything with Flashers before) yet turn signals not working when they did before. I'm thinking the Flasher connector at Fuse box may be culprit. Will try.

Thanks

What type of harness did you use? Yearone/M&H or other?

I am thinking about doing this very task, and looking at the Y1 site I cannot tell if a new bulkhead connector is provided.

Well, I just answered my own question..

I went to Classic Industries to see what they sell for harnesses, and found that the also sell M&H. AND, their picture is far clearer than Y1. A new bulkhead connector
is included. I will be going that way as soon as a sale comes up!

Gtxjtc, agree, the photos for the harness are not very helpful. The harness also includes new ignition junction.

BTW folk, still do not have turn signals working? Thought it might be connector at steering column, but it appears connected correctly? Not sure what to try

Does this help?
