Bit by bit, and the people that like them. Think about, just as a number, 1981. This vintage car was from the ‘20’s. Luckily for many reasons these are much more relevant than a ‘20’s car was in ‘81 or a ‘30’s car in ‘91 but time still rolls along.

When my friends and I really got into cars, I got hold of a Direct Connection catalog and price list (I'm thinking 1979-1980???)
The prices were mind boggling. I remember (hazily) the price for a 340 piston as around $40 and wondering if that was for the whole set, since $320 seemed implausible. Then I wondered who in the world would ever be able to afford this stuff.
I still wonder the same thing.

I just went to the website and the part number & price are for some bullshit challenger air cleaner.

Although I agree 100% about the phasing out of 60’s car products, least they could do is make sure what they carry is listed correctly.
