I love drifting. If it feels like drifting, I'm in. I don't care if it's called Uncle Booger's Scooter Patch. I predicted the rise of drifting way early. Kids in Hawaii were buying old Camaros and doing what the kids in Japan were doing. It hadn't reached the continental US yet. I talked a company into making an RC drift car. It was a Nissan Z.

Absolutely drifted before it was called drifting.

Had to, in order to get my 70 Super Bee to outhandle new fox body mustangs in curves.

.....and it did!

At 85 my 59 Fury drifted. It certainly did not go where I pointed it. The mass of the car, defeated the tyres. But that was the front end. Does that count?

I was doing sideways burnouts before drifting was a thing.....does that count???

:xscuseless:

BTW ....I enjoyed the BTTF ride at Universal Studios back in 1997

I saw an advert. on TV, ride looks cool
but I hate theme parks & the people in them are usually jerks
Standing under a roller coaster is always fun.....picking up loose change, sunglasses, hats..... vomit....

Drifting.....was doing that out in the country on dirt roads. Dirt track racers were doing it over 50 years ago then someone thought about burning up tires on a hard surface. A buddy of mine set up a drift car....an El Camino and all the ricers laughed at him until he started beating them then they cried foul.

The Runway Takedown (

Fast & Furious 6 features an airport runway sequence where Toretto’s crew attempts to prevent a massive cargo plane from taking off. The sequence unfolds over what aviation experts have calculated would need to be a 26-mile runway, approximately 18 times longer than the world’s actual longest runway. The cars somehow match pace with an aircraft designed to reach takeoff speeds exceeding 150 mph, maintaining perfect formation at speeds most production vehicles cannot achieve.

To make matters more unbelievable, several vehicles tethered to the plane by harpoon cables somehow prevent it from becoming airborne, despite the fact that a cargo plane’s engines generate tens of thousands of pounds of thrust, which would easily overcome the minimal resistance provided by the cars. The cables would snap from tension or rip the attachment points from the cars’ frames before significantly impeding the aircraft. Finally, when the plane does crash, the protagonists miraculously outrun the massive fireball and debris field that would engulf everything in its path.

I've collected a bunch of F&F stuff over the years. Some really odd stuff. I figure someday it will be worth something just as a cultural phenomenon. I was looking for a poster yesterday and remembered I bought two giant posters, I think from 5 & 6. They came in 8 big sections. Put together they are the size of a highway billboard. Probably for places like Hollywood or Times Square. All still new in the cardboard tubes. Plus a F&F slot car set NIB.
