Hi guys. I'm from South Africa and own a 1971 Charger RT. 440 Magnum 4bbl. (Auto transmission)

The car is missing the fender tag, but has the VIN (WS23) tag. Some of the options are the hidden headlights and front and rear spoilers.

I'm hoping to start restoring the car soon and have found lots of useful info on this forum! Thanks for a great site :)

Welcome. Car looks great. I'm interested to know how hard it is to find Mopars in South Africa. Any time to give your story about this one??

There's plenty of Chrysler Valiants, still a few Dodge 383's, Valiant Barracudas and Chargers. The U.S. Dodge Chargers are pretty rare to come by although there are a few 67's-69's around. As far as I know this is the only 71!

This car was imported from the U.S. in the 70's (not sure if new or used) and the previous owner bought it in 1992. I bought the car from him a few months ago. Wish I could find out more about the history of the car.

Cool Charger !!

As far as its missing fendertag ; does it have its buildsheet(s) ?

Are there any tags / decals in the engine compartment indicating built-for-export ?

What's its v.i.n. , minus the last 6 characters ? I'm interested in seeing what plant built it ( St. Louis , Los Angeles , or ... ? ) .

I've seen some of the 383-powered Demons that were built in South Africa ; can't recall what they're called in their homeland ...

I've found most of the build sheet under the seat. Was torn to shreds. Managed to glue most of it together though! The order number has an "E" which I believe is for international export? I would love to trace the history of this car. Is it possible to get any info from Chrysler on these cars?

what's its full v.i.n. , minus the last 6 digits ?

what codes does its fender tag show ?

The "E" you're referring to , is it in the v.i.n. or on the fender tag ?
