Hey figured I’d say hi and introduce myself here. I bought my first B body - a 69 Charger 318 car - back in the late 90s at 17 years old and have been a B body guy ever since. I sold my last Charger (68 383 auto, rusty but fun) back in 2009 to come up with a down payment on a house. Since then I did a bit better and was able to pick up a pretty nice driver 70 Coronet 500 someone made into a half R/T tribute pretty reasonably but I always wanted a 70 Charger. Finally at 40 (4 kids and two wives into it) I got it… an 70 383 4 barrel 3 speed manual (ran and drove but I’m not sure how it didn’t catch on fire) and my oldest son and daughter work on it with me. A lot of knowledge is here on this forum and thanks for letting me join, I’m sure I’ll ill need some advice!

Welcome to FBBO from Ontario. Thanks for the pictures of your cars on your first post. A 383, 3-speed manual '70 Charger would be an unusual sight. This would be one of those cases where rarity does not equate to increased value. Most people would prefer the 4-speed. I bought a new SuperBee in 1969. The 833 4-speed was standard equipment in it, with the 727 automatic being a $50.00 option. This was also true of the RoadRunner. Advertising for the new 1970 SuperBee and RoadRunner bragged that the price had been reduced on these already bargain cars. What Chrysler did to accomplish this, was to install a 3-speed manual as the standard transmission on these cars. The formerly free 4-speed was now a $200.00 option, with the TorqueFlight now costing $250.00. Smoke and mirrors! If I remember right, the 3-speed manual they installed was Ford's excellent piece, with synchronized first gear.

Welcome from Missouri!!

Welcome from NJ!

Welcome from SE nebraska. Both 70s are great cars. We are about a hour east of Wilber. K&G has some nice cars in his collection over there.
Spring is here ....time to get the cars out!

Yep someone swapped it to a 69 4 speed somewhere along the way. Kind of wish I had the numbers matching trans - apparently there were only 109 made this way - but the 3 speed is long gone.

Nice 70 R/T

Welcome from Alabama, enjoy that Gen II Charger.

My brothers 70 challenger was a lot faster at the track w the 3 speed, he slowed a whole second when he switched to the 4 speed both w 3.23s, 3 speed 3.09 Low granny got it out of the hole quicker. But for driving... 4 speed was always more fun then the 3.

Our 72's are our best driving cars. Hoping to getting both of them running this summer. We have a fleet of projects as well.

Welcome from Illinois!! Very nice looking Coronet and congrats on acquiring your long sought Charger.
