Hello! My first car was a 69 Plymouth Satellite, 2 door, 318 automatic. I picked it up for $1200 when I was 16 (back in early 2001..). The master plan was to swap in a big block, 727 and 8.75 rear end and cause havoc. Then 9/11 happened, I ended up going into the Marines, getting married, getting out of the Marines, starting a career, having some kids… Fast forward to today- I’m 40, the kids are half grown, the wife stuck around, the career is going well and the Plymouth is stored inside in basically the same condition it was 20+ years ago when I shipped out.

My goals for the car have changed and I’m actually planning to keep it a small block car, although I’m not worried about keeping it “original” or numbers matching. I’m planning another post where I’d love to get the advice of the members here as far as figuring out a good route to go. So much has changed in the last 20 years or so with what is available. Back when I was chasing girls and dreaming of big blocks I paid zero attention to small block stuff and now it seems there’s been massive innovation.

While I mothballed the Plymouth, waiting for the day when I had more time and money to work on it, I never quit being a Mopar guy. I had a 99 Avenger, 03 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 08 Ram 1500 and currently use a 21 Power Wagon to get the kids to school. My wife has had an 03 Sebring convertible and for awhile we had a 15 Pacifica.
