Hi to all.......happy to be here!

Been a member on forabodiesonly for a while with a 71 Dart 408, 570+HP. I am joining here because I am going to look at a 71 Roadrunner this morning and would like to get your gestimate on what it may be worth. If I buy it and pretty sure I will, it will be my 3rd Tor Red 71 Roadrunner in the past 40 years. Here's the scoop.

1971 Road Runner, 383, auto on the column, all original down to the pie pan and spare tire, #'s matching, 77,*** miles. I believe it has been garaged all its life. Thanks for your comments!!

tough call, depending on sheet metal, $5,000....to $12,000, all depends on the owner and how much TV he watches, make sure it's a RR and not a clone, not that there's anything wrong with a Satellite, but changes the value.

Welcome. Don't know what to tell you on the value of the RR more than old-skool did but good luck. Let us know how it goes.

welcome to FBBO, looks to be a nice 71 RR 383/727 car

www.NADAguides.com site says $12.4 Low retail, basically a nice driver condition - $29.9k Average sale price {seems HIGH to me} - $46k high sale value, that would have to be a fully optioned fresh hi-quality restoration or near perfect car...

welcome to FBBO good luck on the road runner

well I did buy the RR. I probably paid a little more than I should have @ $19K, but it is a nice car. Drove it 40 miles back to the house, smooth and straight as an arrow. Biggest problem on the car is the accel pump\gasket seeping slightly and both the belts need replaced. This is my 3rd 71 Tor Red RR. The first one I took my then girlfriend and now my wife to prom in 1974 (picture at very bottom). I have been looking to get another one for 30 years. Couple more pictures of the new acquisition right below. As you know, you pay what it is worth to you......

I would go through the rubber... belts like you said and the radiator hoses and by pass heaterhoses and the 3 flexible brake hoses and wipers... then do a typical 30,000 mile dealer service... dump all the fluids brake and coolant flush then rear diff trans filter and engine oil flush just to start out fresh and see how the old stuff looks... my trick is to never let the fluids go bad and do seals and gaskets because it's cheaper and easyier than resurrecting it back from the dead... plus I fix it on my schedule rather than where and when it happens to die....

Congrats on your new RR, that year has always been one of my favorites.

Great story, & you got yourself another beaut !! For a solid, original car, I think you did well. Your pic of your first one brings back memories to me... I test drove the same-looking car in 1972 to buy, a 383 bench 4-speed, but I wound up getting a different RR. Enjoy it, I wish you well with it !
