Welcome to FBBO from Ontario. Nice story and RoadRunner. Great wife! Thanks for your picture.

Welcome from Alberta, Canada. 1970 is my favorite year for most Mopars...Roadrunner, Charger, Challenger, Monaco, Fury...just my opinion but the best examples of those cars was the 1970 model year. :)

Welcome. Your '70 beauty certainty qualifies. More pics are welcomed.

Welcome from PA from another 70 Road Runner owner!

Hello all, I live in St Paul, MN. I bought a restored 70 Road Runner in 2018. It’s K5 Burnt Orange. In High School, (1978) I had 70 Burnet Orange Satellite with a black vinyl roof.
I came across the 70 Road Runner on Craigs list and told my wife about it. She said, buy it, since it was the same style and color as the car we had dated in back in High School.
I am a lucky to have such a great wife.
Our 70 Road Runner has the original matching numbers 383 engine. It been rebuilt and runs great.
The 4 speed A833 transmission is not a numbers matching. Can anyone tell me how I can decode the serial number on the transmission to determine what year it is? Thank you for reading.View attachment 2025575
To find the date of the trans look for the pad on the right side of the transmission and record the numbers. So using my trans as an example (not original to my car) the top number I think is the vin or part of the vin the lower numbers tell about trans. PP 833 then 3128 this # is the day of manufacturer using chrysler 10,000 Day Calendar with Saturday July 29th, 1961 being day #1 so 3128 days after that is February 19 1970 the last #'s 0165, I believe is the 165th unit built that day. As I remember when I bought this transmission back in the mid 80's the guy said it was out of a 1970 roadrunner.
