Hi everyone, this is Chrisdroid. I know that my B-body isn't best year that everyone wants, but in the near future it may. This is my last hooray. I am 61 years young. I've seen a lot. I remember when owning a 57 was the in thing. Mine was a 57 Plymouth fury, 318, pushbutton auto on the dash, and of course bucket seats with a bitchpad between the seats. Fire engine red. Ah the days, this is before Christine ever came out. Long gone, no pics, just fond memory. Lot of street cars between and now. I have a blank canvas and read a lot of posts from here. Lot of ideas. But I"ll tell you what I need your help. Give me some ideas with pics, besides trashing it and getting a real Charger :icon_confused:. Just kidding:eek:ops: !!
This is going to be a slow process, as I'm on SSI, But like I said it's my last hooray.
Thanks for all the input, in advance.

hi and welcome to the site 1977_Dodge_Charger-1[1].jpg

I've never seen a Daytona in those colors.

Neat.

Factory big block car?

That's pretty cool, too.

One of my friends had a loaded 77 Daytona IIRC everything except a big block (but it was a 360-4) and T tops.

Red/maroon leather, tuff wheel, p/w, etc

yes it's factory big block , just got to crawl under to find out if it's a 440 or 400. The pad by the dist is ground smooth, nothing there. the last registered (?) owner was a racer. But somehow I'll find out.

Yes it's white from the factory, with grey markings ( by the door jams and hood and trunk)

What a nice ride, love the turbine rims snake eyes

welcome to FBBO

Welcome from Minnesota Chris....nice ride and remember B body is a B body baby - love em all. :headbang: :headbang:

Welcome from Pennsylvania. That is a cool car. I don't remember that paint scheme but pretty cool. Enjoy it.

Welcome to the site sweet charger , I'd drive one if I had it .I have a 72 and 74 charger , and to try and help you with the eng a old man told me once take your thumb and pinky and see if you can almost touch head to head that would be the low block 361,383,400
And if it's way off its a raise block 440 or 413 426 fast easy way to tell with out getting dirty good luck with it

But just by looking at your eng pic kinda looks like a smaller big block so probably the 400

440 has a raised flat pad on the block (above water pump, closest to driver's side head) with the stampings.

383 and 400 don't have that pad and the stampings are under the distributor.

super easy.

Welcome to FBBO! So what, it is not a 68-70, or even a 71-74. Who cares? It is a last of an era big block (I'll bet 400). The 400's are very sought after blocks - I'll likely be looking for one myself as I currently have a 383.

Good luck with getting it the way you want it!

Nice Charger. Like others have said, most likely a 400 as that was the largest size available that year. I noticed it has single exhaust. Factory big block comes with dual exhaust I thought. Maybe check the VIN on it to see.

Enjoy it. Not many around anymore. I have a 77 Cordoba and its the only one I see around these parts.

Thanks everyone!! This is a great site. Everyone is willing to help. I will be taking a lot at the engine today and to see what size od block I have. Beginning to think it's a 400. Will let you know. I love the style of my ride, and yes the last style to have a big mopar available. So cool. I will be posting in the correct area. look for me. Maybe tires and rims, engine and bay area, or interior. I'll see what comes first. And will post pics, again thanks

Wow. I tried to find a pic, but it was super hard.

This is the best I could find.

The rail that Holds the intake valley pan bolts the hole.
You can see some valve push rods for the driver's side.
Intake and valley pan are missing.

If the motor has this pad, it's an RB 413/426/440.

If it doesn't, it a B 361/383/400.
