Thanks for allowing me into this group. My 1st car was a 1973 Plymouth Satellite Sebring, 318ci, baby blue, white vinyl top, slap stick, bucket seats, luggage rack, rally wheels. Loved it until something new and flashy caught my eye. Sold it to a friend from high school, who totaled it within 2 months. Sad day. Had thought about getting a muscle car for many years but never pulled the trigger. Life. Then a divorce and reconnection with a girl I dated when I had my Satellite back in 1985 came back. Perfect idea.....locate a 1973 Satellite. I used to tinker with cars but don't consider myself a mechanic, so was looking for one someone had already restored, but issue was I didn't have big $$$ to throw at one. Crazy what I found listed in my area, $$ vs condition. Finally found a RR that had a 400ci. Engine compartment looked good and where money had been spent. Body was not rusted. Plus it was plum crazy which is a color I always loved. Researching the fender tag, it was born as JY6 - gold metallic. Had a vinyl top, but removed poorly. Interior is rough. Looks like previous owner stripped down to race? Anyhow, talked owner down to a price I felt couldn't walk away from. Bought her early January. Had trailered to a friends home shop as it isn't running. 2 hrs from my home, so I don't get to work on it as much as I'd like. Definite project. Running is my 1st goal. Fingers crossed the transmission is good. Hear the gauges don't work. AC was removed. The 20" Foose wheels have to come off! Do not look good on her. Have the originals that'll be powder coated and put back on....soon. I've probably said too much. LOL. I'm not a purist, so when it's time for body work, it'll stay this color. I do appreciate this group and have been reading many posts over the past couple months trying to learn what I should be doing. Here's a pic heading to her new home.
