Hello all. I am a 63 year old dyed in the wool MOPAR lover. I am a retired Boeing machinist. I own a 1966 Plymouth Belvedere II. I have de-chromed it and soon going to be painting it. I need some insightful help about the K member and putting a big block in it. The car originally had a 273/904 tranny. I put a built 318/904 in it about ten years ago. I have had a 375 HP 440 magnum with a 727 tranny out of my 68 Charger R/T I had when I got married 45 years ago. I had both rebuilt recently and want to install them in my 66. My question is will the 273 K-member accept the 440 or do I need a conversion kit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Steve

Welcome to FBBO. Glad to have another mopar lover. Good luck with your paint job and 440 install. Should complement that ride pretty well.

Welcome to FBBO from hot & dry NorCal

good luck with the 440 engine swap

Welcome Steve. I swapped out the original 318 poly and tranny in my 66 Satellite with no major problems. You'll probably need to upgrade the radiator and you might want to go to larger torsion bars. Would love to see pictures of your car.
