Hey, All-
I just joined this forum, though I've been a member of a similar one (The Coronet Registry) for a while.
About me: My personal daily driver has only ever been a Dodge since before I got my license. Started out with a 67 Dart GT purchased for $50 back in 1986 when I was 15 years old. From there, have owned a Dodge Rampage, Dodge Dakota, Dodge 1500 and currently own a Dodge 2500 (Cummins Turbo 4WD), 1966 Coronet 440, and just purchased a 1966 Dodge Charger.
I am attaching a photo of what the Coronet looked like the day I brought it home from Texas.
Since that time, I've been taking it apart and replacing sheet metal. (My first time EVER doing body work of any sorts) The floorboards were horrible, so I took them out.
The Coronet is almost ready for paint stripping and its first coat of primer. New floorpans have been installed. After bodywork, it will have a 440 6-pack and a Tremec 5-speed installed. Differential is the 8 3/4, sporting a Truetrack limited slip differential and 3.73 gears.
And I recently had the good fortune of finding a 1966 Dodge Charger for sale. It had been parked in 1980 and sitting in a garage ever since. I will have this beauty up and running before the Coronet, for sure.
I think my new motto should be: "1966 Dodge - Collect the Whole Set!"
Thanks,
Jay in MO
