Not so fastPossibly so. I know that at one time they were all under the same parent company when they got away from gun items, and other “ distasteful” items. Ie. certain WWII memorabilia, Nazi flags, that sort of stuff.
I have had this happen a couple of times but only with EBay, not PayPal. I disputed the decision and got my money back. One time it said package delivered to mailbox. It was a 6 foot tall storage cabinet. I told them if they could come over here and fit a 6 foot storage cabinet in my mailbox I would pay the charges. They decided to refund me instead. I don’t know how those scammers have figured out how to fake the USPS tracking system but they have. Buyers beware.I quit using PayPal for 99% of transactions after they sided with a Chinese scammer posing as an American based company. The scammer could not provide proof of delivery other stating it was delivered in an email. PayPal is no PAL to anyone. Luckily my credit card refunded my funds and that was the end for me! I HAD used PayPal since 1999. So user beware.
These Chinese scammers did not use USPS. After I did not receive the item the scammer refused to state who was the shipping agent and refused to provide a proof or a picture of the delivery. All this and the scammer’s emails were presented to PayPal, but they sided with the scammer almost immediately. I have a ring cameras and seen no deliveries during that week. PayPal may now be owned or affiliated with China hence why the DID NOTHING. I have not used PayPal for 8 months, so it their lost.I have had this happen a couple of times but only with EBay, not PayPal. I disputed the decision and got my money back. No it has not changed. The OP used a debit card to pay friends and family which PayPal treats a debit card the same as a credit card and charged the OP 3.5% fee. The OP didn’t understand that using a debit card would incur fees the same as a credit card even though the money was coming directly from his bank account. In the future the OP learned that when sending money to friends and family you must select ACH transfer directly from your checking or savings account to avoid any fees.Up until the 1st of the new year, if you sent payment to someone and selected 'Goods/Services', PP took 3.5% of that amount and the seller only received 96.5%. If the buyer selected 'Personal' (or whatever the second choice was), the buyer paid any fee and the seller got 100% of the amount the buyer sent. Has this changed (I mean other than the new 4.5% fee)?
