what kind of sponsorship ?
(they usually like the term "marketing partnership" better)

discount on parts ?
discount on machine work ?
maybe oil, plugs, filters, etc. ?
(these are the most common types of sportsman racers sponsorships)

paid for an advertising panel, have their logo/sticker ?
certain $$$ amount for certain race or for a season ?
or a little cash ?
(those are more rare, unless you're a well known commodity, reg. winner)
or paid entry fees or tow money etc. ?

Budnicks it’s an old race car I rescued from certain death. It raced in Tenn, SC & Ga. I got it out a few times last year high 12 fighting all kinds of issues. Did manage a semi at Virginia Motorsports Park last fall. A TON of work was done over the winter & during Covid. Car only weighs 3150 & more power hoping for much better ET when she gets back out.

But this is how sponsorship/"marketing partnership" works
someone asks about your sponsors
what do they do ?
what's the relationship ?

you tell them about company X, does blah blah blah

or is this just a place you buy car parts regularly,
the guy behind the counter,
says;
hell you put a big sticker on
& they'll give you, oil or supplies etc.

what are they doing for you ?
& what are you doing in return, for their endorsements ?

or is this just a place you buy parts,
they say hell you put a sticker on
& they give you parts or supplies or a better price deal on parts ?

id rather not discuss the deal as each one is different. The two I have now are completely different & im trying to woo another company that’s shown interest. I will add that nows the time as the Covid thing has many business owners looking for new ways to advertise. That’s the angle I approached with. Race fans are pent up & eager to get back to enjoying racing & have proven to be loyal to companies in the sport. Doesn’t work on all of them but knock on enough doors.....another thing I had 3 this month tell me I had a great personality. I try to sell myself as well. Smile and act greatfull that they gave me time from their day to listen to me.
Racing an unusual car I think helps too. I use that to my advantage . One of the first things I tell them is it ain’t no Fox body Mustang
