New to b body site

I'm new to the B body site i have an a body and a member of a bodys only,my son however has bought a 73 charger and i have been tasked with it's rebuilding, with his help when he is not doing college schoolwork. It's a 1973 Charger basket case, po disasembled the car 3 years ago and lost intrest we found out about it went and took a look and bought it.It was a 318 car now has a 440 motor has been gone thru short block assembled, heads rebuilt,727 trans needs rebuilt, stock rear.Not horribly rusted i have begun the metal replacement working from rear to front.We are doing this car ourselves from metal work to paint to assembly,my son and i do not know how to weld or paint but we are learning slowly but surely, we both are anil so if it don't work cut it out do it again.I have built many cars but this will be the first i have done my own welding and paint [we call this the practice car so i don't screw up my cuda] time will tell if we can do a good job not looking for perfection just good driver quality.We extended our garage to fit both cars in also,which has been my plan for years anyway.

Looks to be in about the same shape as the b body I am working on now. I am doing all the welding (never welded anything in my life) but I don't have the garbles to take on the paint. I will admit that I am cheating a bit, my best friend is "helping" me with the project and he is a Master Tech at a dodge dealership. This will be somewhere in the neighborhood of the 70th car he has restored.

Update we started out with much ambition and started out strong we cut out one area at a time and made patches then welded them in, well slowly i became very unhappy with my results and thought i bit off more than i could chew.So i walked away from it for several weeks my son thought i had given up and lost all hope in this project sick that he spent money that he could have used elsewhere. This weekend another friend loaned me his gas sheilded mig man what a differance welded in the rest of my patches burning thru only 3 times compaired to almost every time with flux core,we now have a renewed hope that we can complete this project[it's not perfect but it's not going to to riddler]my son is now inspired again and has regained hope that we will suceed still a long way to go but we are cookin with crisco now.Once the rear is buttoned up then rear window channel patches then the dredded cowl have no idea how to fix it but i will come up with somthin.Still got to grind and finish up these then onward and upward.

Well i think it's time i update this thread it's been 19 months since i last updated we have been thru many ups and downs since we purchased this car, my son is a very impatent person and very thrifty [f--kin tightwad] he has lost intrest several times and i have listed it for sale several times almost sold it [dude was not serious] that brings us to the present i have been working on this thing since April 2011 and here's where we are at car is fully sealed [exterior] and getting ready to shoot polyester filler/primer in the next few weeks. Hopefully we'll have paint on it by April 2013,still gotta finish the engine/trans and do suspension/brakes. Interior will come last ya'll have been a great help and an insperation to get us to this point.The outside photos are from earlier today and the others are of the engine test fit [440 in a 318 car].
