Joined forum cause I have a few questions I'm sure you guys can help me with. For starters I was having some what I suspect to be transmission problems went to trans shop and got quote for 1800 bucks and was told that I had a 727 trans so I find a totally rebuilt 727 but last week when we dropped old one we discovered it was 904 and not 727 but at this point I have around 1300 invested in new trans and Convertor and being that it's a small block trans it will probably be hard to sell so I decided to make modifications to make this trans fit anything you guys think I should be aware of before tackling this? Here are few pics of new trans image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

360's are externally balanced and you must have balance weights welded on the converter or you can buy a balanced flexplate from summit. the 318 is internally balanced and does not need to be weighted. you don't specify which you one have. you will need to chop 4" inches out of your drive shaft for the 727 because the 904 is 31" long and the 727 is 35". you will need a 29 spline 727 yoke. other than that, it is a bolt on and go. I even used my 904 trans lines and kickdown linkage on the 727. the mounts are the same.
