I just got my new torsion bars from Just Suspension. They are both the same part no. and have the same 30 degree rotation end to end. I called Just suspension up and was told that the bars were correct and once installed they will have a left or right twist after they are cranked to ride height. I don't recall this being the case with the last set I bought from Firm Feel. Those bars had a left and right twist before install. Anybody have an opinion?

Send those back and get some that are right to begin with, I would!! I just saw that PST has them for 219 in a 1.03 diameter.

When torsion bars are new it doesn't matter which way they are turned. The twist of the bars gets worned into the bars when used. Mopar performance torsion bars also doesn't have a left or right. After they are used you want to make sure you keep them on the side they came off of.

Thanks for the response. The bars are 1" dia. and look like good quality pieces. The Firm Feel bars were larger and were a mother to get in even with the LCA unhooked at the ball joint. The indexing of these bars will allow them to go on either side. I will make sure to mark them if I ever take them back out. Thanks again

If torsion bars are forged, how to they get the twist if you get them and they are straight? Just asking.

When the bars are installed the adjusters turn the socket/reciever in the lower control arm that actually twist the bar between the LCA and the end in the torsion bar crossmember. The other set of bars I installed in my Belvedere were so stiff the adjuster bolt didn't go through the adjuster on the LCA much compared to the stock set I took off.The twisting of the bar is what creates the spring in the suspension.

Sounds plausible to me.
