Thought I'd post a few pics for any of you guys looking for a 17" wheel/tire combo in a 71-74 B-body that fits the wheel wells and fits the part. The wheels are 17x8 MB Old Schools with +6 offset; the rear tires are 275/50R17's (27.9" diameter) and the fronts are 235/55R17's (27.1 diameter)...this combo clears easily (no rubbing) and produced a nice rake, smooth ride and better handling, and filled up the wheel wells nicely :headbang:

I just put these on last weekend and it has completely changed the look of the car...and yeah, I know 17's aren't for everyone or every application, but I think these work pretty well...I just need some tire shine :) (Sorry for the semi-blurry cell phone pics)

Here's the car with the old 15x7 US Indy Mags that were on it when I bought it...and before I painted the grill (man, did that make a difference!)

Cheers...

I usually don't like the big wheel less tire look so much, but man, I'm really kind of digging that! Well done!

Nice job- new wheels look very sharp and good detail on the grill

Looks great! I've never been a fan of big wheels on these cars, but it looks like I've never seen the right pairing.

I like it, great choice.

Very nice, whats the backspacing, i know you said +6 offset. Back whats the backspacing in inches?

Thanks a lot for the compliments guys - I really appreciate it. Although completely biased, I'm a big fan of how the combo turned out...it looks pretty damn good. Buying wheels/tires like these that work on an older car is tough - and holy hell is it easy to make an expensive mistake!

Blazer - the backspacing is 4.7" on all corners. All four clear easy...and I definitely could've gone wider in the rear.

Cool, thanks. I know you could have gotten Way with a 17x9 out bCk but what you have looks plenty with a 275.
