Just when you thought all the barn finds are gone and this shows up. Excellent!

I would pull the bulkhead connectors and clean the terminals and make sure they are making good contact. Also check the part of the harness that goes to the headlights. A bad connection means excessive resistance and excessive resistance means heat and melted connectors.

What he said , :headbang: but I'll add to also use aerosol electrical connection cleaner & small pipe cleaner {tabacco type, stiff pipe cleaners} &/or brass wire brush to help remove the oxidation/corrosion on the terminals, then also use dielectric grease on all the connections, when reinstalling them...

Also check all of your soft hoses from front to back including fuel and vacuum. If the small lengths of rubber fuel line are dry and brittle they may not necessarily leak fuel but can suck air into the fuel system and starve the engine or lean it out.
