First time for this "Old Guy" to actually join and write in a forum.
Found the site when the passenger door on my 67 Belvedere wouldn't close, then wouldn't open yesterday after going for coffee with my handicap brother who had to crawl out the driver's side.
Found some great advice and insight...
Got the door open last night, the second tooth is not catching... now need to figure out what to do to fix this. Never had issue with the door before but now I'm thinking I need to adjust the striker.
Any and all advice will be appreciated!

Nice car.

Please tell us about it.

Welcome Jim from NY.
If the door hinge isn't worn and the door side latch isn't hitting too low.
The first thing I would try on your door is some lubrication.
It's pretty easy to remove the door panel and make sure everything is moving freely.

Welcome aboard also form NJ. Exit 12 - rt. 80!

welcome to FBBO from NorCal Sierras

Welcome Jim from SOUTH NJ, se of exit 4, north-east of exit 3, "Piney" cone's throw from ATCO DRAGS!! Nice Belv!!

Wow!

Thanks to all those responses!

Parkway exit 98, Jersey Shore (NOT the TV show).

Very pedestrian Belvedere, just the way I like it.
Still has drums all around (they work great).
Came with a tired and smoky 273 bolted to a 904A auto.
Slight Rebuilt on the 904A but couldn't save the 273 so I dropped a slightly used (32k miles) 318, a new 2bbl carb, new rear springs and shocks all around and new headliner... and there she is. I have a couple other classic muscle cars but LOVE driving this around just the way it is!

spray some lub in the lock and all around, it's the easiest thing to do,

Thanks Don,
Took panel off and sprayed some Lithium on the inside and the outside starwheel.
Hinge is in good shape, no play (lucky me)!
Slightly adjusted the striker, but still need to slam for it to catch second tooth.
I HATE slamming doors!
Thinking I might take Door Latch out of door and soaking it... your thoughts?

Welcome from Missouri!!

Welcome aboard! Beautiful car. You get 10 points for posting a pic, LOL!

Lets see some more pic's but also include the door area so we can help with your issue.

IIRC the striker is adjustable.

Can be Moved out to engage sooner.

#3 phillips with a lot of torque.

Can get a little squirrely if you move it around too much.

IIRC it moves in/out and up/down plus twist/angle.
