Now it's time..

To all those that have had to do this, I've known how hard it is. This is way too many times for me. I knew this was coming but sucks even more than I knew it would. 13 years later, one of my girls, Chase, a black lab will be taking her last ride to the vet this afternoon. Unfortunately, her spirits and appetite for beefy bones are still great, but her hips are not able to hold her up anymore and so skinny, her body is failing quickly and I won't have her suffer! So, now it's time.

Chase, One of the best dogs ever, RIP!

this guy Elvis I got about 6 months or so after Lord Budnicks,
he's helped ease the pain & loss, I swore I'd never get another dog,
after the last time, it broke my heart, but I couldn't resist...

Sorry for your loss, I also have had to make that decision too many times. In our family while we truly mourn the dog lost we have always thought the best way to honor them is to find another that needs a loving home.

Yep, Just what I was thinking "ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN" and DOG spelled backwards is "GOD" Hate to see it,hate to hear it.Now she is no longer in pain.You will meet again some day. I love dogs more than people.

Sorry for your loss. Recently had to do the same and it's so damn hard. They are more loyal then then most people and definitely a family member.

I don't know if it gets harder. The worst for me was the first one we let go. The last one was last year. That dog was annoying. We kept him in comfort but with failing eyesight, bad hips and the occasional tendency to bite our other dogs if he thought they wanted his food...When he bit the wife, (We presume he thought she was messing with his food) we had to take him in. I wasn't very sad to see him go. It does depend on how much you loved and cared for the Dog.

Understand, I had to put my big Rottweiler down a few yrs back. The vet. came to my house to do it, so I could bury him between the trees where he`d lay and watch me mow.The most terrible part was the vet didn`t bring a needle long enough to reach his heart, and had to keep stabbing to reach it. I no longer use that vet !! -STILL GET TEARED UP ABOUT IT .

My heart goes out to you! One of my favorite sayings on a dog calendar we have is " A dog is the only thing in the world who loves you, more than it loves itself". You have been lucky enough to experience that. It's love that helps us do what is so hard.

Thank you all! Been a long couple days and doesn't seem to ge getting easier!

It was the right thing to do for sure. No questions there. But just plain leave a huge hole that we all seem to know way too often.

Budnicks, I do hope they are playing and having fun as they should be!

I had to do that this year to my best buddy too. I cant ever go through it again as bad as I would love another one. It wouldn't be him and I feel for you. I know I will never be the same person I was when he was alive. RIP I really feel your pain. GOD Bless!
