Dose anyone know what these number stand for on the block

Some are listed in Senatore's book
HP = high performance
F I think is 1970
maltese cross and X = 0.010" undersize crankshaft
I think the 9 25 could be a date
the 440 would be 440 c.i.

F = F series = 1970 model year
440 = CID
9 25 = engine assembly date
HP = high performance = out of a 1970 B, C or E body.

There should be a partial VIN on a pad on the passenger's side of the block above the pan rail. That will help narrow down what it is out of (presuming it is not in a numbers matching car....)
