Oblong wheel stud wholes

Anybody know why wheel stud openings are oblong on my weld prostar wheels

I have had wheels with oblong holes, mags that is. I've never heard of such a thing on prostar however. Real Welds, or off-brand copy?
The way the ovals worked on my wheels, (torque thrusts, tho I don't know if factory or modified) the mag lug would center up against the inside of the oval for the 4.5 pattern, or the outside of the oval for the 4.75 pattern.
I never had any problems with that.arrangement,..... but I doubt I would have raced the car.

Pictures? I wouldn't expect for any WELD wheel to have oblong holes.

Sold them for many years. Never saw a Unilug type pattern on a real Weld Wheel. As 33IMP stated, they were/are LUG centic. Look oh the back of the wheel for the manufacturer's name. If not there, break a bead and look on the inside of the center drum. Most likely a different brand with an expensive center cap...

Oblong holes? My bet? Summit or Jegs chinese wheels with Weld caps.
