Wix #51068 is interchangeable with the popular PH8A from fram, about 2 " smaller so perfect for close places like aftermarket headers.
Crosses over to AC-PF20, FRAM-PH43, HASTINGS-196, PUROLATOR-PER81, MOTORCRAFT- FL300, MOPAR-L19, NAPA-1068, LEE-LF16 AND LF16HP.

Can be if a short filter is required.
Wix makes NAPA's filters. If you have not noticed 1068 is the last 4 numbers for both filters.
Also just because these numbers cross over donot make the mistake of believing they are all equal in quality.

So Wix is filter of choice? Where can you buy them?

NAPA brand filters are made by WIX and are the same as WIX branded filters. I always use NAPA Gold filters for automotive applications.

Wix 51515 is the big filter and is popular to use on big blocks

I would like to add,,,if you have an HP system that goes to 70 or 80 lbs cold, the filter goes into by-pass mode and does not filter.Know what your oil system flows and pick your filter accordingly. My Milodon oil system moves 19 GPM

#51068 $3.93 shorter/stubby version of the 51515

#51515 $4.75 normal/standard Big or Small block 1qt oil filter, street version filters to about 20 microns, and has a bypass

51068(stubby 51515) $4.53

#51515R $6.86 Race Filter, full flow race filter--no bypass, filters to about 60 micons, very high burst pressure

#51806: $5.94 A heavy-duty 51515 with a built-in standpipe to keep the filter positively full of oil after shutdown in base-down mounting situations (slant-6, for example). These also greatly reduce oil spillage when removing a base-down filter at oil change time, see here and here for more info

#51773: $5.06 An extra-long 51515 if you want your filter to hold two quarts of oil and have the space for it

#51076: $4.73 Heavy-duty replacement filter element for factory optional taxi/fleet/police replaceable-cartridge oil filter

#51085: $3.82 "Super Shorty" Mopar oil filter, 3.79" tall (the 51068 is 4.338" tall, the 51515 and 51806 are 5.18" tall, and the 51773 is just barely shy of 7" tall)

#57899: $4.07 Oil Filter New Hemi Challenger 08-10 - 5.7 , 6.1 hemi
#42843 Air Filter New Hemi Challenger 08-10 - 5.7 , 6.1 hemi
#58845 Trans Filter Auto New Hemi Challenger 08-10 - 5.7 , 6.1 hemi

Use "Moparts" ( I know, I know) in the coupon code section for a discount. Orders over $50 also receive free shipping.

Thanks for that, I never heard of the 51773. The 51515 is the big wix, that is the yuuuge wix.

The Wix 51515 is the only filter I'll use on both my 383 Magnum and 512 stroker. Both engines are heavily modified on internals and heads. Their the large filter but then they have more surface area for filtration. I cut, open and spread the filament after every oil change for inspection, and, as expected, one side of the filament is dirty the other clean. I did the same with a Fram and couldn't tell one side from the other. My oil pressure went up 5 lbs with the Wix installation. If you've got 12 grand wrapped up in engines be cautious of the oil filters you use, if you only got 1 1/2 grand tied up, throw any **** you want on it. That way the quality of the filter and the rebuild will match.

51068 is what is used on the magnum Motors i have a wix filter catalog that crosses over a good majority of filters .

I have seen some very expensive builds that were crap. So never relate dollars spent to quality.
