is it worth it to go from a stock 440 3/8 pickup tube to a 1/2 tube and bigger pan? on a stock 68 440 iam going through as stock... pros and cons welcome...
the 3/8' tube is fine for a stocker. the 5qt pan is fine, just don't rev it up like a 283 chevy. an option is the '70-'71 six-pak/street hemi pan. its 6qts, has an available 3/8" pick-up,and it will fit your chassis.
Lew nailed it. I do rev mine like a 283 (I prefer a 289 Ford) but I don't hold it there for long. My mild 440 is running all stock oiling but at higher pressure.
