Ok serious question for the crowd.

Air cleaner pie tin is off and hanging in the garage. The risk of chipping paint wasnt worth the emblem change to me

Options:
1. Keep the lady
- Prefer stock original. Install a date correct 383
- Stay modified. Fake out everyone. Replace the 440 with a 426 Hemi
2. Sell the lady
- Change nothing
- NOPE. Not selling that gorgeous lady

My 67 just has V8 emblems, coronet 500 383 2 bbl car, my buddies 67 RT also just has V8 emblems. Not an expert but I don’t think they posted the engine size before 68

The only one is for a 383 four barrel. Everything else is just a V8 badge.

440 engine callouts were never put on 1967 Coronets, not even R/T's. They came on a few Chargers and Monacos. My vote is to leave it as is, if you are selling.

1966-67 383 4-barrel Coronets had engine size call-outs on front fenders, as did 426 Hemi. Only call-out on '67 R/T was for optional 426 Hemi. I have never seen an R/T with just V-8 sign on the fender. Mine does not with standard 440.

This is the truth. 426 Hemi only on R/Ts

. The 440 Magnum badges were on Chargers. I put a set on my 67 R/T just because I like them, and had seen another 67 R/T with them at a car show. And, one of the first car shows I put my car in, an older guy called me out about them not being correct. I said YEP, and I wasn't trying to pass them off as original. It's my car, and that's what I wanted...

I have been deliberating what to put on my fenders, or hood, or hood scoop. No decision yet.

I have a 440 monaco that someone put 383 emblems on, and the holes aren't the same.
Had a chance to double check and the the answer is , no.
If you wanted to put 440 emblems on, you will have to either;
Drill, weld, body work
Or, grind the teats off and double side tape them on.
Sorry to be a party pooper

The '67 440 callout is on Charger only. The '67 Coronet did not have that, I'm 99.564% sure.

Far as other emblems go for Dodge, the "V-8" was 318 and 361. along with the "273 four barrel" and "426 Hemi" in 1966. The exception on the Hemi was "HP2" emblems on early Plymouth Hemi B-body cars. Plymouth also had the "Commando V8" rectangular emblem

In 1967, it was "V-8" for the 273 (not 100% certain on this one) and 318; "383 four barrel", and "426 Hemi", along with the "440 Four Barrel" emblems on Charger that I previously mentioned.

My Charger has a 361 masquerading as a 383, since the previous owner added the 383 fender emblems and pie tin. I guess it is karma because my previous Barracuda had a 500 stroker masquerading as a 383.

I've been tempted so many times over the years to simply replace the "V-8" emblems on my 361 '66 Coronet with a set of NOS "383 four barrel" emblems I've had since 1985. But instead, I had "361" hand-painted above the "V-8" callouts when I had the car repainted in 1985. Most have no idea what a "361" is! I've had "what's a 361?" and "don't you mean a 360?" Had a Ford guy ask me once "A 361? You have an Edsel engine in that?"...uhhh, no.

You couldn't get a 273 HP 4 barrel engine in a 66 or 67 B body, so the 273-2 got "V-8" on both Dodge fenders and Plymouth hood ornaments.

On the Plymouth hood ornaments, all other V 8 displacements got the size numbers. (225 cars got a blank backed ornament in 67)

66 Plymouth 361 and 383 (remember only 4 barrel 383's in 66) both got "Commando V8" rectangular badges.

True, but the 273 Four Barrel callouts DID exist on the Dart; I probably should've pointed that out initially.

4 4 0
MAGNUM
on 67 charger.

Whatever you do anyone with a Mopar brain will know what it is. The rest will believe whatever you tell them.

Ive already removed the air cleaner pie tin and its hanging on the garage wall

383 emblems will stay as is, risking chipping paint hand not crossed my mind and to me is simply not worth it.

question is ;
Do I change the side emblems to match the engine ?
No way! Leave the 383 emblems on there. When I was in high school I had a 64 El Camino with a 250 straight six, but I left the 230 emblems on the fenders. That way I had a killer sleeper!

car has been sold.

BUT,,,new owner is looking for 440 emblems .

Unless your OCD is driving you nuts, no reason to change anything. Next owner's issues
