Neither the fuel or temp gauges are working. I'm wondering if there is a fuse or maybe a ground I need to check? This is on a 1971 Plymouth Satellite with a 318 2bbl. Thank you so much for your help. This board is extremely knowledgable. No I'm not sucking up. The help I've received has been very helpful!

I have been down this road with two 73s.
If both gauges are not working I will say check the voltage limiter. Is the oil pressure gauge working or not?
You may be right that the panel has lost its ground, that could cause it as well. Put a temporary wire from a metal part of the instrument panel to body ground and see if does anything if not I am guessing it the limiter.
It can be reached without removing the cluster.
The cluster is not hard to remove if you need to, drop the steering coloum.

This is the basic set of gauges. Tempertature, Fuel Level and Charging system. The charging system works but the other two don`t.

I had the same problem with my 76 cordoba. I replaced the temp sending unit and replaced the float on the fuel sending unit and that fixed both problems.

That was after replacing the gauge and the voltage limiter behind the cluster! Which turned out were not the problems.

I'm gonna try to remember to take the creeper out to the storage site so I can check the ground to the fuel tank before I start pulling the dash. I also have a coolant sensor to install as well.
