Nope. I watch on News9 until the threat is over. Before forecasting became state if the art we used to go outside and watch tornadoes pass by, like @patrick66 said recently.

The cellar doesn't even come into play unless the tornado is coming directly at my house and it's within a half mile or less. Try staying inside one for more than a couple of minutes sometime...if you are not claustrophic, you will be.

We always said if the sky turns yellow you're still okay, if it turns green head for cover. It's the tornadoes that change paths quickly that get people/chasers.

I grew up on Texoma south of you. As a kid I remember when we went to the cellar dad and grandpa would stand outside and watch while we got to open a jar of canned peaches or pears from the shelf in the cellar. In the spring there would be several inches of water in the floor so we sat on chairs with our feet up.
