Ol' Man Winter Is Finally Here. ...

Had 3 scorpions, an Artic Cat, and a John Deere growing up. We're reliable until they got to be 30 years old. Spent less money on the 5 of them than I did a single Polaris 750 Indy. rebuilding the middle cylinder and rejetting the carbs got old.. Good riddance.

that is a common problem with those triples. I switched to a 4 stroke turbo which has been good but I miss the two stroke sound, smell and throttle response, not to mention the lighter weight. My FST is 600lbs and handles the trails like my Polara lol.

Bought my 07 FST from a guy who decided to pack it in at 75! My back seems okay with sledding but my carpal tunnel issues make it challenging. We had no snow last year and sure got me thinking about it.
No snow in Ontario?

I'm old fashioned. Love two strokes be it dirt bikes, outboards or whatever. Enjoy the response is right. I will admit, changing plugs in below zero Temps ain't fun, but a flask of some good brandy or schnapps sure helps.

Boats and arm-candy, are much worse.
Correct for the most part. Especially on the arm candy. I enjoy my Crestliner though, it's just an entry level fishing boat though. Not one of those fancy Crownline or Rinker ski boats.

Some people will claim that Mopars are money pits. I would say not because you can always find a buyer for your B-body. Seldom a need to sell for dirt cheap

I had a Polaris triple for many years. Probably put about 10,000 miles on it. Never had a problem with it. Never had to change plugs on the trail, in fact, I don't think I ever changed plugs. Just cleaned them every spring.

P.S.
Loved the sound of a triple. Was a bit like the rumble from my Road Runner. Twins just can't compare. And 4 strokers, well hell, you can't even hear 'em coming.

I will say. My Triple was fast to the point of being outright dangerous. Going 0 to 120 in almost nothing flat across a frozen lake or iced over highway is not for the faint of heart

It was a toasty 13 degrees today.

Actually it was 47 today . . . ( that's the reason that I moved to North Carolina from Michigan . . . oh, and the job too . . . ) ( SMILE )

-2 and going to be colder. Moving east toward you guys

The Polar Vortex arrived overnight, 3 degrees out there with a 40mp breeze pointed straight at the back door from out of the NNW. brought an inch of snow.

-8 tomorrow may be worse. Then it will warm up into the teens and a blizzard will come Saturday evening.

I'm surprised, usually when it gets this cold there are trucks gelled up sitting on the side of the road. Almost always trucks from southern states. Haven't seen any.

Damn global warming!

I don't mind it but the bedroom door is right across the hallway from the back door. When I opened it this AM to let the big dog out I almost got frost bit waiting for the damn cat to decide if he really wanted to go out. Finally put my foot under his butt and sent him flying, gently....lol.
