Been really bored lately after selling my rat pickup and needed a project. So my bud had this old gasser sitting in the weeds along with a new glass front, made a deal and drug the old 62 Chevy II home today.Pretty rough from 30 plus years of neglect.

Holy smokes, you sold that truck already?! Thought I seen it on craigslist not too long ago at all. I suppose, usually if I see anything auto being sold out of Waupaca on craigslist I generally assume it's you...lol Not like there's a hustling bustling metropolis over there or anything lol. Cool project! Don't see a lot of 62's floating around. Good luck.

Looks like a fun project... Good luck, I do love the old 60's "gasser" look, what's the plans, what power plant drivetrain combo is planned BBC or SBC, Blown, Injected, manual trans or TH400 TH350 PG, 9" or 12 Bolt, straight axle ?? will it be a just for show or actually a functional street/strip car or strictly a real "gasser" track car ??... just curious

Think on this one i am just going to wing it .Some of the craftmanship on it aint to good in fact down right scary.Today i tore the front axle out as they didnt have the wheel centered in the opening and it looked hidious with the shackles on the rear of the spring. So i am im the process right now of making some decent mounts and should have it back in tomorrow.Need to decide if i will use the glass front and doors or not.If i do use it that will eliminate any street duty so i am leaning toward maybe steel fenders.atleast then a guy could have lights.
Drivetrain?I did pickup up a 4 spd for it.Current rear is a 57 chevy unit but there are some pretty good bolt in options.E body 8.75 and a 70-81 8.5 camaro units have the right spring width and will bolt in with no cutting. From what i am told is the early bronco 9" is the best fit width wise.I do have a couple 9" rears back in the pickers but would need to be narrowed.Lots to think about so for now i am just going to fix the rot and make the car safe and change some previous mistakes.
