I worked at a truck repair shop and i was friendly with one of the mechanics. He was older than me about middle sixties and he was one of the better mechanics in the shop. He told me way back when,he was a mechanic for a taxi company in NYC. At the time they had all Chrysler cars. He told me they had racks of engines and trans mounted on the K frames. A cab would come in and they'd unhook everything drop the K frame with the motor and trans. Get a fork lift and put a rebuilt unit in. At the end of his shift that cab went back out into the streets. Of course they had a lot of cars but the guy told me that they stocked every part down to the smallest item there was. Thats the way they did it back then

It's always pretty cool learning something from someone who did things "back in the day". I would like to talk to someone who worked in a dodge dealership back in 1962. I have a couple of questions that only they would know.
The last few years, going to the US 30 reunions in York Pa., gave me the opportunity to talk to several famous people, who raced back in the day. Found out quite a bit from them about some things that only they would know. Not everything gets documented.
Good story Steve...
