Hello, I'm looking to purchase a 1970 roadrunner. It's a RM21 hardtop plum crazy 4 speed car, white top and interior. It's an older restoration which is showing its age due to the fact that the owner leaves it out in the elements. Not sure if the engine is original and I'm going to say that it isn't at this time. Trying to figure out what a good price would be for the car. he's asking 20k but I think that's high for what it needs. The fender tag shows that the car is what it is but it's not painted the same color as car
I sold my last 70 roadrunner in 2002 to start my business which is called Road Runner Remodeling. I would like to purchase this car and get it in my garage ASAP.

thanks in advance.

RM23 is the hardtop so it should have the coupe posts and pop out rear quarter windows if it's an RM21. I guess I'd have to have pictures and a lot more information before I could share an opinion on value.

Yup, need more info on it and pics if possible but for a decent car that's numbers matching, 20 isn't out of the question.....

I meant rm23, sorry about that. The pictures I have make the car look blue but that's because I'm taking a picture of the pictures I have on my phone. The car needs front bumper re chromed, paint bubbles and rust in area between rear window and trunk, hood looks like it has body filler that's failing with cracks and rust stains. Interior has headliner issues, window seals need replacing as well as door panels. Looks like the car has 96k on the odometer. Car would be an ok driver.

Any more detail? What engine, what rear? Does it drive?

About 16 months ago I bought my 70 in Indiana and shipped it back to PA. It's a 440, 4 speed Air Grabber hood car currently. I paid 18k. I put a new shifter on it and it was on the road. It's not perfect by any stretch but it's very clean and presentable and gets stares everywhere I take it, plus it had a bunch of good new parts on it that I wasn't expecting.

I looked long and hard to find what I wanted for under 20k. It does seem he's a bit high, but I believe it's because it's an east coast car. Harder to find in good shape out here. I hope that helps. Good luck.

Depends what it would cost you "out of pocket" to bring it back to the condition you would be happy with.
