The vin on the core didn't start until 69......

Sorry, I have 5 67 GTX'S with VIN#'s on the back of the core support. They are not on the top as in 69, but are in about the same location as the ones on top would be.

My previous 67 GTX had the SO number stamped on the core.......That makes no sense they did it prior to 67 and in 68, then went back to the VIN in 69?.....
Can you provide pics of a 67 GTX of yours rad support and the vin plate?....I personally have never seen that....

I will try to get a couple of pictures tomorrow. I have one unrestored car that may be more readable. The SO number behind the rear bumper is almost impossible to get a picture of with the bumper on the car.

My previous 67 GTX had the SO number stamped on the core.......That makes no sense they did it prior to 67 and in 68, then went back to the VIN in 69?.....

It's not a VIN# behind rear bumper, it's the SO number that appears on the fender tag. The VIN # should be on the back of the core support. With the build sheet you can verify options for a little more on originality.

My 67 a-body has the SO# stamped on the trunk lip under the weatherstrip on the driver's side.

Did they not do this to b-bodies?


SO# is also on the radiator support.

I never doubt some people....so I didn’t doubt you at all..I was looking forward to something different...Ma Mopar was never perfect and plants had variations...

I also appreciate you taking the time to post some pics...btw that’s a nice looking original car....

The last time I verified numbers on most of my cars was at purchase. I guess I'm getting forgetful in my old age. That GTX, I have had for about 15-18 years. My newest 67 I have had more than 7-9 years. Upon taking the pictures this morning I realized that the VIN # is on the certa card and door jam, and the SO # is on the core support, fender tag, and the inside of the LR bumper bracket.
The GTX that I posted pictures of this morning, I was told had an exterior repaint about 15-20 years before I acquired it. I replaced the seat covers and carpet and some dash knob inserts. It still runs on points, original carb, and distributor. It has 74K original miles. I also have 2 great build sheets.
