Trying to view this optimistically, it's a good time to observe, photo, and document undercarriage crayon markings...............................................................

get yer Crayola's out !

I wish there was a shot of where the straps are hooked on the other side... and what panels they crushed with them.

Looks like that strap is wrapped around the suspension along inner rocker

To be even more positive about things there - rich dude still has a standing house.
No mean feat there.

pretty cool they got it back over
without a huge amount of additional damage

------------------------------------------------------------------

I saw/watched them do that with a tractor-trailer wreck/semi-rig
that was on it's roof
they disconnected the trailer & lifted & flipped the truck
saved most of it, that wasn't crushed already...
The trailer was junk 'sort of crushed', blocking the hwy...
(Eagle River area between Palmer & Anchorage, icy as hell)
They just wrapped a couple of straps around/over it
& pulled it back over
unloaded it (full of still semi-frozen salmon) into another trailer,
in Alaska way back in the mid 80's

Will they be saved,or on Copart soon? After Worman did his other Daytona,I expected to see them on an upcoming episode.

Interesting story-the crazy part is the owner of those cars owns another Daytona and Superbird that he managed to relocate prior to the storm.

As the story goes, he has four children and wanted a wingcar for each of them. The one Mark Worman just restored on his show was one of the cars he owns. That car was moved before the storm along with the other Superbird. I hope that they both are saved.

Now that they got some of the saltwater out they should stop somewhere at a pool or freshwater lake and dunk it.

They need to be neutralized. They have to come completely apart and be dipped then start the panel repair and replacement as needed.

Well yeah, they do. I was mostly talking about the Superbird. You see all the water that came out of there? While they are busy taking it apart, that saltwater is still doing its thing. The comment about dunking it in the lake was kind of tongue in cheek though.

It was a sad sight seeing the saltwater running out of the car as they flipped it back upright! It has been in there since the storm already doing damage!

Even though the cars don't look horrible, it will be a big job to restore both back to how they were.
Given how much wing cars are worth now, and the fact the owner seems pretty well off and devoted to them, I have no doubt they will be fixed.
Maybe both will end up features on GYC.
