Went to change the fluid and found a couple of familiar pieces in the pan. As expected, a sprag failure. Caught in time. It has the upgraded Super Sprag. Fortunately caught when it only damaged the spring cage and inner cam. Rest of the trans looks great as always. Runs aprox 900 hp at 3350 - 3600 depending on ballast for 9.25 index. The band has 700+ runs. The clutches about 225.

Do you run low band apply in that one?
Nope. Have one in my street car due to no shield. Not a fan of the 1-2 shift with them. My friend Joel pointed out a tweek. We'll see if it works. It did shake the tires once really hard. That may have started it. That was about 150 passes ago.

You have likely already drilled a hole in the back of the case to feed oil returning from the cooler directly into the sprag? I know that you are extremely knowledgable and experienced with the 727 and the rest of your machinery. Well done.

Wow, great that you caught it and nothing got hurt.. Thing has held up well..
