Orange ignition module

Do you know if anyone manufactures a Prestolite distributor? Or have to go scrappin' and have one rebuilt. Is the Mopar Essex coil still made? My Blue Streak coil spilled its guts. Not sure if it doesn't like being mounted on the manifold or is this a case of electronic ignition without specific ballast and coil balancing act issue.
Other question is have you had issues with condensers? Reading posts that say condensers go bad and some say no issues with them.

The Prestolite was the original distributor back when RJ's car was built. Place an ad to find a used one and have Halifaxhops go through it if you can't do it yourself. Depending on your cirrent ignition system, You may need a little rewiring, the correct ballast resistor and coil. Hoppy can help you with those parts. He also sells new original points, condensers, caps and rotors to have extra's of when you need them.

The new condensers, like many electrical and electronic parts now days are made overseas and often times either don't work right out of the box or don't work for very long. I only trust new /old parts made back in the 70's and 80's. I was having issues with my 64 converted to electronic. Halifaxhops sent me a care package with new/old stock parts. Back when they were made well and to last.

FBO module, plus you get a rev limiter. Kit will bypass the ballast resister, will replace your coil too. I have 2 of them, no issues .

The best thing the OP to do is try and source an original Prestolite Dual point distributor on line. GLNOS is a source...very expensive...in the neighborhood of $700 each depending on year and availability. Or RAY BRENNER @HALLIFAXHOPS....on this site. He can supply everything you need including spare parts including the coil, ballast resistor, cap, rotor, wires. Ray can also recurve the distributor to your specs. There are other NOS MOPAR parts supplies but be prepared to spend $$$ on originally. Also haunt local swap meets. Get yourself a copy of the Mopar parts manual for your year and model car and engine.....and when you go looking for parts, SHOP USING PART NUMBERS....the vendor will say the part should fit.....know what your looking for and negotiate the price.....you best bet is Ray Brenner.....he's in Pennsylvania......just my opinion of course......

Pertronix in two of my Mopars, one a Pertronix II and a Pertronix III in my GTX. Not an issue for 10+ years in my Belvedere nor for 8 years in my GTX. No ballast resistor in either, stock distributor.

Pertronix builds a nice system but..
Can have issues.
On one of our SoCal cruises a guy had car with a Pertronix system and it went dead,
every thing pointed to a defective ECU.
There was a local close by parts store but they didn't carry any Pertronix parts.
We were 125 miles from home, so he had to have AAA flatbed it home..

Just my $0.02...

That is a current made in China one. No wonder it only has one star. Find an new one from 30-40 years ago and it will last.
Absolutely correct!!!
As I have posted multiple times the later after-market and Mopar ECUs
are of poor quality and short reliability...
My Mopar ECU, distributor, coil, ballast resistor are now >20 years old, still going fine.
I do carry spares but to date have not had to use them.
I still have a stash of spare parts.

Just my $0.02...

While I acknowledge the shift in part quality, it does beg the question: what will we do once the supply of original American-made components is exhausted?
Switch over to something else like GM HEI or Pertronix. (which many have already done) Many of us that run the Mopar system, have squirreled away extra parts to last us the rest of our lives.
