Monaco66coupe: I was street racing against a 396 Elcamino back in 1977 one night. I had a stock 1970 stock Road Runner with 383, automatic. At about 1/2 block I'm passing the Elcamino about 1/2 car length ahead of him when a bright flash blew his hood open. I turned around and came back. He blew both heads off, no nitrous either. I lost respect for at least that 396 after that.
