Over at BAT - when did you last see one? 1973 Dodge Colt Hardtop 4-Speed

Used to be a guy in OKC around 1984 or so. He raced a '76 Colt with a 440 in it with a narrowed 8-3/4" that was a truly scary car. He ran that on the street and the strip for a couple of years, and he and the car simply disappeared. He was certifiably whacko. He and the car had a very bad vibe going.

We used to call them "Dolts" - and as long as it's been since I saw one, it's been longer since
I cared about seeing one. :-)
Sox & Martin had the right idea with them.

Last time I saw one was back in the '70s. The engines outlasted the bodies. Prepped and serviced many working for a Dodge dealership. Kind of a cross between a Honda and a Toyota in the way they were put together and the materials used.

Looks like the Sox car tracked really well down the track.

I remember, can't recall how many years ago it was, that someone had gotten ahold of that car and had it at
Bristol, TN (Thunder Valley) at an event - and every time they tried to launch it, it would do some weird dance
and head straight for the wall, all twisted up like a pretzel on the rears.
Dang junebug was DRUNK!

I had a Yellow 74 colt....it got impounded by the law, I never saw it again.
Mine was yellow too. My brother stole it and left it out in the woods on the powerline trails on its side. I honestly do not remember what ever happened to the car. Sold/Impounded/recovered I do not recall. Might have to ask my brother.

I used to drive my parent 1978 Colt wagon. as a teenager lets just say the wagon came in quite handy at the drive in movies most weekends.

I wouldnt mind have this little colt , so I might have to keep an eye on it. Odds are someone will want it a lot more then I would.
Same goes for a Turbo Omni GLH,

Oh man, met this girl that had a 64 Falcon wagon that needed a 3 speed transmission so I put one it for her and from then on we took her car out on dates instead of mine.....and mine was a much nicer car being a 66 Belvedere II and all lol. She wore me out! Rather put transmissions in cars than be with her again!

Out the door at $17,500!
Wow, thats about double what I would have thought.

One has to wonder whats driving the market right now. It seems like car that were 15k last week are now 20k plus and so on

where the he&& is all these people getting that kind of expendable income to blow the market up like it is

In all fairness, at your advanced age, just going for a walk to the mailbox will wear you out. :D

I've been wondering the same thing about the real estate market around here....

When I started law school in 1980, another couple in married student housing had a Dodge Colt. Times being what they were then, I was driving a Mazda B2000 pick up with a 4 cylinder, and my '70 GTX was up on jacks in my mother in law's garage.

When I was 17 and fresh out of HS, my friend Jack asked me if I wanted to drive to California to pick up his girlfriend's stuff and a car he had inherited from his grandpa. Well, yeah, duh! We were going inhis gf's car - a blue '74 Dodge Colt two-door hardtop. We were picking up his grandpa's car - a 1975 Dodge Colt four-door. It was a manual shift, hers was an automatic. We had a fantastic eight-day trip, getting into all sorts of adventures, it seemed! We picked up the other car at Day Six, and we loaded up both cars with all of her junk. Looked like "The Grapes of Wrath" but heading East. Great memories involving those two cars that Summer! I'd love to own one in that year-group.
Those type of adventures make us and become a part of our lives forever..
16 of us circa 1997 riding through Montana, Idaho, Dakotas for 2 weeks... Met some great people, some interesting women, Drank alot of alcohol, and saw the most beautiful country in America.. This is Salmon Idaho night....
