It was indeed and the intended mounting method (that came with the tach) never worked out for where we wanted it to be. The hose clamp attachment is as "period correct" as the "non stock" tach itself was in the beginning.

Says so right in the instructions. I should mention that this paper is for a Sun Super Tach II Model CP-7901
