I’m considering a Pertronix billet distributor mainly because I want a cap with male terminals and I like the idea of it being self contained. Looking for some feedback on quality of construction, reliability, etc. I’m leaning toward the Ignitor 3 version that has multiple spark and a rev limiter because it’s not much more than the Ignitor 2 version. Wondering if there is any downside to the Ignitor 3 for street use.

i did the pertronix conversion in my prestolite distributor and loved it.stock look and no more points.

I have a Pertronix billet distributor in my '68 Bee (383)and I like it. Mine has the ignitor II. I chose it because it's self contained (no extra holes in the car) , but mostly because it also had the advance spring options and the stops to limit total advance. The stops were important to me because I run a lot of initial advance and the stops give me the total that I wanted. It's easy to install and has good instructions. One thing... there is a warning that you may have an interference problem that might require some grinding. I had no problem so I can't tell you anything about that. I did see one on a car at a show and he said he had to grind a bit off the head. There are other makers of self-contained units including MSD.
