So they are a little lighter today. With more HP and RPM from that 355. It's the lower end torque they lack. I saw one run a low 10 sec quarter mile. You can tell it was all top end. Again, different objective.

3,200 lb (1,451 kg) minimum without driver and fuel 3,400 lb (1,542 kg) minimum with driver and fuel.
In 1970, 3800, including fuel, minus Buddy Baker!!!

yeah the 71 RR was allegedly his one of his championship winning cars
sold for less than I thought it would (can't remember the exact #'s)

but the Superbird the Petty's claimed it was their #43 car
it wasn't actually the #40 Hamilton car, like they originally had it

the price/bid it went to ($2.7 mill ???, or close I can't remember the exact $$$ #)
I was surprised it wasn't gonna' be 'reserve lifted/off'
all the rest of his collection was sold @ no reserve

That's a lotta coin, IMO, for a chassis with all new sheetmetal.
That being said, it's a real Petty Bird.
Wonder what the "Petty" name brings to the party?

What's the Ramo Stott Bird #7 worth, with it's all original chassis AND sheetmetal?
