Ahh, I remember that "Corvette Summer" fiberglass hood. When I was looking to buy my first car, before I ended up with my '70 Charger, I looked at a red third-gen Charger that had that same hood on it. Boy am I glad I passed on that one...
I was joking with the "Corvette Summer" reference, not being specific.I was gonna say-
I've never seen an "ls-1" hood on a 73 Satellite.
...and...
"Corvette Summer" hood was asymmetrical.
Hate to let my - according to some here - Corvette and Dog owning superiority complex show, but that hood 'scoop' is an L88 style protrusion. Never heard of an "LS1" scoop. This first appeared on the 68 L88 cars and from the factory, was used on those for 68 and 9, as well as the two ZL1 cars. Not only does it look good, it was very functional. BUT... it should NOT be put on a 73 Satellite, nor any nonChevrolet, imnsho. Looks like that Satellite may have a 71-up Z28 spoiler on the back too...Sorta like the early Camaro 'cowl induction hood' ; people put em on Mustangs, Dusters, Dakotas, whatever. Yes its a nice design and yes it works, but no, you don't put it on Chryslers, Fords AMCs or nonAmerican cars. It simply is not done.I was gonna say-

Hey, it was the 70's, just a cheap summer flick. Lots of goofy custom cars back then. I actually read the book before I saw the movie...As far as the 'corvette summer' car... whomever did that obviously hates Corvettes and probably their owners ; sheesh...what an abomination!

Now that's a great photo, in so many ways.
Cold beer, hold my gun!
Quite possibly; I was never into 'cruiser/customs' or jap street bikes, but have seen thousands and had friends that had them. Were not those called KZ 500/whatever "LTDs" or similar? Is that a KZ-440/454?
