Any thoughts on pilot bushing vs bearing. Or on case I'm not wording it correctly what would you guys recommend a solid pilot bearing or one with needle bearings??? Pros and cons etc.

newer transmissions with light oil needed less drag with clutch pedal down
old transmissions with 90w did not need it as much

I prefer the bushing. More contact support area and no needle bearings to booger up the works. Same with rocker arms.

I think I'm with you on that. My last build I used the bearing and it was a bit of a struggle getting the input shaft in. I was worried if I fkd up the bearing and it was going to fall apart on me down the road.

I have seen plenty of the needle bearing style pilots take a crap.they dont get any lube and rust away. They can make noise or lock onto the input shaft and turn it when the clutch is disengaged. Never had any problems like that from a brass bushing.

I'm sold. That's what I wanted to hear. Thanks all.
