Plans for your car after you die

I hope to sell mine before I pass if I can. If I die suddenly, there is a car for each of the kids. They can keep and enjoy them or sell them. Neither one is into old cars so selling would make sense. I hope I have my parts stash whittled down to a more manageable level by then or at least priced and organized for easy selling. They can give it all away if they wish. Lots of hassle selling, boxing, and shipping parts. It won't make them rich. If they don't know who to contact for help I will write that down and put it in a notebook. Mopar friends, acquaintances, and swap meet vendors will be on the list. FABO, and FBBO will be on that list as well.

I am more concerned about my whiskey collection but I already told them to save a few bottles for themselves as keepsakes and give the rest away. Invite all the funeral attendees over to the house for a drink on me and take a few bottles of your choice home to enjoy. Let's see, that could be 5 bottles each for 100 people. Cheers!

I currently know of a collection of cars, the owner died, the kid wants to sell... Eight cars, from the 20's through the 40's.... None are restored, all are dry & rust free... Wants a package deal..... Just wants to be done with it... 35K for everything....

What does that say about the future of our cars?

I have two classic cars left and hope to have the one that's still apart gone soon. At least it rolls now. Not sure what to do with the other one.

This scenario has been on my mind for a while and I have not come up with a plan like most. None of my family took an interest except my son. He would like all three of my cars but he would use them up before sundown. I know I won't have any say or care what he does with them but I would hate to see them beat to death over night either. My Grand daughter has not taken an interest but is in College and I have met some of her friends who are car guys I see at Car shows and around town. One loves my 60 Phoenix and one loves my Charger. Neither of them are rich so if the timing presents itself, I have been considering a Revokable Living Trust. My wife thinks she would want to keep the Charger but otherwise she would be on board as well. Time will tell but I'm not planning on giving up any time soon. If I don't get it done............Well, someone else can deal with it.

Working on mine lately.....to get rid of it. It's a rolling project. Moved it out from the shop a few days ago and have been loading parts into it that go with it today. Had a few project cars that got sold before completion but wanted to complete this one for sure. Oh well. At least I got to drive and drag race it for 10 years. Actually won a race with it before tearing it apart. Went 7 rounds of bracket racing around 97 with it. Slowest car at the track that night against the fastest in the final round lol!

I should be working on my dead file over the Christmas break.
Not motivated yet. Maybe a beer break will help.

When I worked in an insurance office, where the staff kept dead ( non active ) files. I had to inform them that my dead files differed, my clients were dead, but the files were active. Until the last issue was resolved, then they were definitely dead. Charitable giving, is one of the hardest things to stop.
Giving stuff away is one of the easiest.

Sidney Hobart race starts soon, for those getting bored.

My daughter is 11 and she seems to enjoy my old cars. She certainly doesn't mind riding around without AC, even in our hot East Texas summers. God willing, she'll be grown before I pass, I'm sure she'd keep one or a few of my old cars and trucks.

She wanted the smashed in grill off my '68 Coronet 440 parts car to hang on the wall in her room. Someone rearranged the letters to read "DOG"!

I've seen the 'DOG' stuff before.....only if they knew lol

Jesus wept, this is gonna be a **** show! My wife is soft to all three kids, it'll come out in the laundry! just hope their all sociable after!

I have no heirs, so I hope to sell them and donate the money to vets and critters. I don't want my wife dealing with the sharks...

I’ll be 58 in March. I’ve got one car pretty well done and working on finishing the 2nd. As I finish this car, I’m working on selling everything I don’t need. My plan is to have two finished vehicles and then transform my working shop into more of a finished garage/man cave and just perform maintenance instead of building cars. As for the cars, none of my kids have any interest and once I’m gone, neither will I.
