I'm rooting for the Oilers, of course...my hometown. I agree that Sir Stanley doesn't belong in Vegas, Florida, Tampa Bay, etc.

Go Edmonton! I was fortunate to be living in Edmonton when they truly were the city of champions. The atmosphere was electric, city pride was off the scale. I can also remember sitting with my buddies in open mouth shock watching the press conference when the traded Gretzky.
I was even one of the homeless, living in the river valley for a while. Seems like a different life, and I guess it was.
When wife was going through chemo at Cross Cancer we were gifted great seats to an Eskimos (not Elks back then) game and had a great time. Took entire family to see Iron Maiden, and daughter to Metallica there. We still get to Edmonton a few times a year. Love that city.

Sounds like you wouldn’t be cheering for the team that plays in the smallest CFL city. Just have to cheer for the RIDERS.

I cheer for any of the Western Canadians first, but Edmonton are my number one. And there is nothing like Rider pride. Any team on the planet would be envious of the Rider fan base.

I have a very HARD time cheering for the Canadians or Maple Leafs back when there were 6 teams. Montreal and Toronto hardly took any players from Manitoba west.
So, Clark, Bobby Orr, Bobby Hull, Gordy How and others had to play South of the Border. Surprisingly they were good enough to help their teams win Stanley Cups.

This is gonna be a good series. I want the Oilers to win but I think Florida may have the better team if they use their physical presence in a smart way. This will be Connor McDavids cup if he does what he can do.

I like the Oilers' chances more this year than last year. Coach Knobby has been rolling 4 lines all playoffs, which gets everyone involved and feeling like they have something to contribute and roles to play. Last year it was just 2 lines, or even just 1 with McDavid & Drat on the ice together...they mounted a spectacular comeback from being down 3 - 0 but they had nothing left in the tank for Game 7. The Oil are also much more physical this year. Kane was absent last year, a healthy Kane can be a game-changer. He totally neutralized Tkachuk a few years back when the Oilers spanked Calgary.

Canes have a hell of a team too. Florida is just built for the playoffs. The Bruins won’t be contenders for God knows how long.
Bruins were so close then blew it up. Time to start following the Canes.

They had to, though, they were already on the decline, with key players aging out. They need a full rebuild and that usually takes several years...if they make smart draft & trade decisions.
