I'm working on several different EFI projects right now. I'm curious if there would be any interest in a plug and play gen3 swap setup? None of the confines of a stock ECM. No need for a hand held tuner. Free user tune able software that works on a PC, Mac, or Linux. It would include a base tune for your application all for around $1700.

Would that interest anyone?

I'm sure there would be interest. Is $1,700 comparable to what the 'other two' get for their versions of the same type thing? In the future I would like to do a `55 or `56 Plymouth with one and be able to simply drop it in and run it.

Is there a version that will control VVT/VCT on Eagle and Apache engines?

No, you get full control with this setup instead of having to send your tune to a Cmr dealer like me for adjustments

As a matter of fact, yes it would. It might take me a little messing around to get the first one tuned, but it would work. There would be some more wiring involved at a slightly higher price to run the VVT stuff

What controller are you using? Are you making it yourself? Hiw would it compare to the mopar performance stand alone ecm? Cause if yours can do what it does for almost a 1000 bucks less I would say you have a winner

It is the megasquirt controller. It can do everything the mopar one can do plus about 1000 things it cant. The mopar one is discontinued anyway. It could do VVT, it could do e85, flex fuel sensing, nitrous control, boost control, you name it.

I am just beginning my swap. I have a 2010 5.7 and 5 speed auto. I would be interested in your potential product as well.

5 speed as in nag1? We have a standalone for it. It's just uber expensive to control that trans. Engine...no problem

I've got a 2003 5.7L Hemi with a NAG1 - the NAG1 is being replaced with Tremec 5-speed.

Got the whole wire harness with it including (2) computers, one for the engine and (1) for the transmission.

What if we sent you the original wire harness ( since it would have all the connectors that you'd need ) - would that alter the price at all ?

Just a thought . . .

My plans are to sell the NAG1 . . .

It's far easier to make a new one.

Well folks it looks like a done deal. For $1559 shipped I can sell these units. I was kind showing my cards a little early but not much

There is a vendor that I work with that has a stand alone Nag1 controller available now. It is just too expensive for most folks. We are working on things to reduce the price though. We are trying to get it to $1500 retail. That would be with everything you need to run a Nag1 with a factory ecm or an aftermarket ecm

Define "stand alone" when talking about the NAG1 controller. I think you are familliar with my build, how would that work with what I am doing in relation to the factory ecm?....or would it?

It would be a controller that would work by itself. It needs an RPM signal, a speed input and a TPS signal.

For the EFI and nearly computer illiterate, would buying this kit allow one to hook up everything and have an engine that ran well out of the gate? In other words are parameters preset to some baseline? I'm no where near any of this kind of swapping but just curious.

Yes, it should work out of the box

Where were you with this about a year ago!? I would have definitely done this over the hotwire setup for tunability....but I already have it. Oh well I guess next time.

Its been very slow going. According to my trans guy, it took braking a lot of transmissions to get the programming right

Would this solution support a 6.1 hemi with a 545rfe out of the box with the standard tune? What all does it include and what is missing to wire up a Gen 3 hemi? It certainly looks like a better option but its hard to compare prices/features without a full list of what's included or not. Can you share a weblink with more information?

Thanks!
