Plug n play gen3 Hemi ECM and harness

You would need a trans controller to run the 545. If you are going to run a 6.1 with a 545.....the 545 wont last long. They dont hold up to the added torque very well.

Thanks for the quick response. I can get a low miles 545rfe for $275 so that's not much of a risk.

The 545rfe trans will be just fine for a mild engine, it's when some serious hp/tq starts going thru it, problems can occur.

I will likely be keeping my 6.1 in a factory type tune and just use it for regular street driving so we'll see how long it holds up.

i know two people that put the 545 behind the 6.1....they both have manuals now. they cant take the 420lbs of torque. hope it works out for you.

Yeah, they REALLY wont last long. Thanks for affirming what I said earlier.

just backing up what you said, i have talked to you on the phone before and pointed alot of people your way, with all your knowledge on these swaps.

Now your just gonna swell his head, lol!!! He is a super swell, and easy to talk with kind of guy.

I wouldn't say I am an expert on the swaps, I would say there are very few people who know the gen3 hemi platform better.

What about a built 727? Having just 3 gears is a bit of a drag but it would avoid trans tunnel mods which is one of the other big downsides of the 545rfe.

727 will be just fine.....gear vendors. Also a built 518 will do and it's overdrive.

LX, is there an alternative to the NAG1 tranny within the mopar line? I want to run an auto trans but not if its going to greatly increase the costs of installation. Thanks

A 727 and gear vendors will be the least expensive route in staying with a mopar trans
