DT3358 and FC7 are the codes that I've come across to get plum crazy.

I've paid good money for some awesome bodywork and prep on my 74 charger SE. and it about time for paint. Whats the best place(company) that I can get a good mixture to use?? I'd like it to look like the 70-71 dodges had..that exact plum crazy. Seems from what I'm reading though, everytime somebody tries to mix this color, it turns out differently. any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

plans for the 74 SE charger are Plum Crazy with a custom black tail stripe. Black vinyl top. and possibly some sort of hood stripe.

Not real sure, PPG maybe? Im not a painter, I just play one on TV. What does Chip Foose use?

PPG
That is what "Mark Worman" of Graveyard carz uses.
I bought the PPG colors and clear coat for my 63 Maxie Dodge Polara.
PPG colors translate (supposedley) to MOPAR colors.

Here you go.

I love Plum Crazy!

:thinker: who are you going to have paint ,you or a shop , you can go to a automotive refinish store and have them mix some up for you and you can make the spray out sheets to compare ,so you may achive the proper color that you want :reading:

Thanks all for the replies. I will be paying a guy to paint it. He has been painting for 30+ years and owns/operates a custom restoration shop locally. He loves using PPG colors, and he uses these on most of the cars he does. He doesn't see too many Mopars through the shop though. He told me he would "do some research on finding the correct color". But I thought I'd try to do this on my own as well for him. So it appears as though all he would need is the 2210 paint code? I'm no expert when it comes to telling different shades of a color together. I wouldn't be able to tell if its ACTUALLY a correct plum crazy. And all that I'm going for is the factory correct color I guess. Even though I dont think 74's came in plum crazy..

Thanks all for your help! this is the most replies I have ever gotten on a thread on FBBO. must mean that you guys like the plum crazy idea!

I'd love some help deciding what to do with the hood

71Charger_fan that is suck an awesome looking charger there...I've just recently fell in love with this color. I used to tend to stick with liking the high impact greens (like sassy grass). but now I can't wait to see my 74 in plum crazy.
