Hi just found this site. I have a 1969 gtx no power nothing factory air grabber car.i have hade the car 8 years when i got the car it sit in a shed for 20 years im trying to find the 1st owner this car has a silver lower body it looked to be as original as all the rest so thanks mike s.il

I would say do a title search with the IL DMV and get the guys name then search for him with the phone co/online. I did that with my 70 RR years ago. Wound up cold calling and talking to the original owner who ordered the car. Was very interesting and answered a lot of questions for me in why it was optioned the way it was.

Another good idea is to post more pictures of the interior, engine compartment, anything the original owner or other owners might recognize .. or friends who may still know them. Also you could post the fender tag/VIN so previous owners could ID the car.

The fender tag will tell us how it was optioned originally and we can help you decode it if that's what you are after.

Very nice car but doubtful it came that way from the factory.
ALL 69 Gtx's came with Organisol black paint on lower body separated by molding that ran the length of the car.
Looks like a previous owner liked the look of the 72 Satellite Sebring Plus paint scheme and copied it.

Congrats Mike .. you may want to consider painting the lower body with Organisol black like was originally applied. It's a cool looking finish especially on black in my opinion. and would be easier than trying to match the factory black.

The silver does look tasteful with your black paint and the GTX chrome so if you like it don't sweat it.
