He didn't get off easy, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.

We all have our vices, but some can be more destructive — or distracting — than others. According to a report by the Ontario Provincial Police, one man let his urges get the better of him behind the wheel, and is now literally paying the price.
The lead-up to this incident began on Highway 417 near Ottawa City, Ontario, on December 2, when a unit from the Ontario Provincial Police's Eastern Region pulled over a driver who was observed watching pornography while operating his vehicle. The driver was fined $615 CAD ($437 USD) and given three demerit points on his license for distracted driving.
An image released by the department on social media shows a smartphone sitting in front of a Ford's instrument panel, with the image edited to include a large arrow pointing towards the device — seemingly suggesting that the driver had been viewing the adult content on his phone's screen with it sitting in front of the speedo and tach.
"Driving requires your full attention. Leave the phone alone, wait until you get home," a statement from the OPP on X reads.
We'd say the official governmental advice to hold off on using your smartphone until you get home is doubly true when it comes to consuming explicit content. We can't possibly know what went through this driver's mind that led him to think an on-road showing of pornographic material was a bright idea, but we at least hope he kept both hands on the wheel the whole time.
